This initial exposure to birth work led her to pursue it professionally, and she has been offering specialized doula support to area families since 2007. An Olympia native, Kristyn is deeply rooted in the South Puget Sound region and is passionate about being an Olympia, Tacoma, and Seattle area doula, assisting families as they develop their own personal birth philosophies.
Kristyn is a part of the training and development team at ProDoula, a Doula Certification Organization for the Modern Woman and is proud to train new Labor Doulas, Postpartum Doulas, and Postpartum Placenta Specialists as they begin their exciting journeys to birth work.

Her certifications and experience include:

Kristyn is known as steady and easy going; providing a comforting presence during pregnancy, birth, and during life as a new parent. Her reliability, professional skills and ability to meet each family where they are, are highly valued by the community that she serves.
Kristyn resides in Olympia with her two children, who are now a student driver and a preteen. (omg!)

Kristyn is raising her children to understand that they can have anything they want if they are willing to do what is takes to have it.

Sophia Hatzimichael-Brenni

Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, Postpartum Placenta Specialist

Sophia’s place in the Doula profession is rooted primarily in her skillful work as an experienced massage therapist, and in her love for families of all types, as they introduce new babies into our world.

When she found herself repeatedly being asked for Doula support from massage clients, she knew that seeking out specific and specialized training to become a professional Doula was her next step. Wasting no time, she completed several trainings in Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Placenta Encapsulation specialties.

Her experience and certifications include:

  • Labor & Postpartum Doula
  • Postpartum Placenta Specialist
  • NICU support volunteer
  • Infant Massage Instructor & LMP in CA
  • Hundreds of families supported

Well loved by every Doulas Northwest client she supports, Sophia says: “My approach to supporting people is to listen. To deeply listen. As simple as that sounds, my clients are listened to in a way that they feel held. It helps them hear their own voice and ultimately come home to themselves as new parents.”

Nikki Pope Doula Childbirth Educator

Nikki Pope

Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator

Supporting families during their some of their most important moments is something that Nikki has been doing professionally for over a decade.

For five years, Nikki served children with autism and their families through in home behavioral therapy. Parents appreciated her calm demeanor even in extreme circumstances. Nikki’s favorite moments included simply offering a listening ear to discouraged mothers and celebrating with them as their children began accomplishing goals.

Her extensive knowledge of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period began in 2010 as she prepared for the birth of her first child. Not long after, her life experiences, skills, and talents culminated when she chose to become a professional Doula.

Various education, experience and certifications make Nikki the Doula that she is.

They include:

  • Labor Doula
  • Postpartum Doula
  • Certified Childbirth Educator
  • Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Services and Counseling
  • 15+ years of ASL experience

Her husband, Jacob is a local Pastor, and they are proud parents to three sweet girls. In their free time you can find them exploring on various PNW adventures.
