07 May National Nurses Week 2015
National Nurses week begins every year on May 6 and ends on May 12. This is a week dedicated to honoring and recognizing the nurses who play such an important role in our medical society.
While we absolutely appreciate all nurses who take such good care of our loved ones when in need, here at Doulas Northwest, we have a special place in our hearts for the Labor and Delivery and Special Care Nursery Nurses who work diligently day in and day out to maintain safety, comfort and compassion to the families they serve.
We had the opportunity to bring several of these nurses specially made cookies yesterday and enjoyed seeing their faces light up. We would like to take an extra moment and publicly recognize them as an imperative member of the birthing team that we so much enjoy being a part of.
So nurses…our hats are off to you! You work long hours and multi-task between family after family who are going through one of the most important moments of their lives. You are strong women who go through the worst and the best each day. We appreciate your time, your compassion, your sacrifice, your expertise and your humor (we especially love your humor!).
We work with many hospitals, but would like to give an extra loud shout out to the nurses at Capital Medical Center in Olympia, St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. These nurses are exceedingly friendly and warm and we just adore them!
Happy National Nurses week! May you be doted on and served throughout this week, just as much as you dote on and serve others!
P.S. We hope you enjoyed the uterus and baby bum cookies!
